Martire on the signing of a project labor agreement (PLA) between general contractor Hourigan Construction and the Richmond Building and Construction Trades Council to build the $562 million Richmond Grand Resort & Casino:

Richmond, VA (September 26, 2023) - This agreement puts in place strong labor standards that protect Richmond’s workers and ensures that the development of Richmond Grand Resort & Casino will drive economic prosperity for the entire Richmond community. LIUNA is excited to be part of the team.

This PLA is a win for everyone. The PLA will guarantee that Richmond’s workers get the family-supporting jobs they need with fair wages, good benefits and a safe workplace, while promising the casino developers a reliable, skilled and local workforce that can get the job done on time and on budget.

Putting a PLA on the casino sets the precedent for the level of project quality and level of labor standards that Richmond deserves.
